“We have clear instructions for customers and everything is sanitised and will allow extra time between appointments so people do not have to come into contact with other customers.
“It has been a difficult year for everyone and we are just grateful that we are still here and excited to be re-opening.”
Stacey McGinley from the Infinity hair, nails and beauty salon in Whitegate Drive said everyone was relieved to be able to get back to something like normal, particularly since they had recently expanded their premises into the former kitchens shop on the corner.

“We have put in safety measures with a one way system, only four staff instead of eight at the moment, and screens around each customer, a bit like being in a goldfish bowl!
“But it is very important especially in a salon since it is a bit of a social occasion for everyone.
“We cannot wait for things to open up again safely because we have plans to expand, including adding a tattooist, offering glitters and a clothing range upstairs.”

“This latest lockdown has been the longest, and toughest for many businesses, our retail colleagues and the general public. However, there is also a real sense of optimism among our customers and colleagues that this will be the final push.
“We cannot forget, however, that many retailers were facing difficult decisions long before Covid-19 and we expect these challenges will continue.
“ We hope the reopening of non-essential retail will give the industry the boost it needs and breathe life back into the high-street as we slowly return to normality.”
