ST ANNES on Sea Amateur Operatic Society are busy rehearsing for their forthcoming production of the Broadway musical Jekyll and Hyde – immortalised by the famous song This Is The Moment.
The smash hit musical which draws on talents from the whole of the north-west promised to be one of their most ambitious projects to date. With a cast of over 40 performers and a full 15 piece orchestra the event has attracted interest as far away as the USA.
The society has teamed up with local restaurant Chicory to offer a special pre-theatre 3 course menu for a very reasonable £12.50 per person, served each night of the shows one week at 6pm.
Based on the story of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde the musical follows the journey of Jekyll to find a cure for madness. The story unfolds on the streets of Victorian London.
The musical often compared to Les Miserables in style never made it to the west-end despite a hugely successful run on Broadway. The recent UK tour starring Paul Nichols sold out at many theatres across the country.
The show runs from Saturday 24 May - Saturday 31 May at Lowther Pavilion in Lytham. Tickets are available at the Box Office on 01253 658 666 or online at www.stannesoperatics.co.uk. A number of VIP opening night tickets are still available by calling 01253 643850.
