Here is this week's list of coming events.
Thursday
Guest speakers Mrs M Mechan and Mr P Hornblower will entertain members of Over Wyre Probus Club at Springfield House, Pilling. Mrs Mechan will talk about her work as a complementary therapist for cancer sufferers, while Mr Hornblower will be showing holiday snapshots. New members are always welcome.

Friday
Fylde MP Michael Jack will be volunteering at Age Concern Lancashire's office between 10am and 11am. Mr Jack will also be drawing the raffle as part Age Concern's Volunteers' Week celebrations. Tickets are £1 a strip and are available from Age Concern Lancashire shops.

An historic shield-hanging ceremony will take place at Lancaster Castle. Col Alan Jolley, the High Sheriff of Lancashire, will present his shield to Gordon Johnson, the Constable of Lancaster Castle, for it to be hung alongside other shields dating back 400 years. Dignitaries will make their way to the castle following a service in Lancaster Priory at 10.40am.

Local Conservatives are inviting people to meet them over a glass of wine. Lytham and Ansdell Tories have put out the invitation – especially to those who are non-Conservatives. The meeting with Fylde MP Michael Jack, county councillor Tim Ashton and ward councillors Tim Ashton, Ben Aitken, Richard Fulford-Brown and Ray Norsworthy, takes place at the Assembly Rooms, Lytham, on Friday, June 6, at 7pm.

Saturday
Bilsborrow festival will get under way today. Music for the event will be provided by the Preston-based Lancashire Drum and Bugle Band, and the fun will start at 1pm. This year's queen, Laura Swift, will be crowned by Mrs Marjorie Robinson.

Sunday
Johnny Mans Productions presents Secret Love: The musical story of the girl who became the highest paid star of the Swinging Sixties, Kathy Kirby who became a recluse. Starring Suzi Jari, she sings songs which are timeless classics, and portrays the amazingly poignant story of Kathy's life. The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are adults £14.50 amd concessions £12.50.

Monday
Poulton Photographic Society's annual exhibition is being held in the Masonic Hall on Market Street until Saturday June 14.
It will be open each day except Sunday, from 10am to 5pm. As well as a display of monochrome and colour prints, colour slides will be projected continuously throughout each day. The presentation of awards by the president of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union will be held today, when there will also be an audio-visual show.

Tuesday
HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, will visit Pontin's holiday park, Clifton Drive North, St Annes, as part of a visit to the Fylde coast.

Wednesday
Civic dignitaries from Fylde will be attending a production of Hellow Dolly at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool at 7.30pm.
