AN electrician was over the alcohol limit when police stopped his van in the early hours.
Lee Holloway, 29, of Bryning Lane, Newton, near Kirkham, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.

He was banned from the road for 12 months, fined £100 with £80 costs and ordered to pay the £15 victims' surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

David Birrell, prosecuting, said police stopped Holloway's Ford Transit van on Yeadon Way on January 12 about 2am.

A breath test showed 51 micrograms of alcohol in his body – 35 is the limit.

Peter Manning, defending, said his client had drunk three pints of shandy at home and believed he was well within the alcohol limit when he drove to get a takeaway.
