Fire damages property

THE ground floor of a property in Weeton was badly damaged by smoke following a chip pan fire today.

Firefighters deal with the incident, on Singleton Road, after receiving the emergency call at 10.38am.
A cooker hood was destroyed by fire and there was slight heat damage to adjacent wall cupboards.
