KIRKHAM and Wesham Business Group is preparing to hold its third market next month.
Stallholders will include Route Ginger, homemade cakes and pastries, Lancashire Bury black puddings, Shorrocks farmhouse cheeses, Arch Forge Blacksmiths, Stephen Breuer studio pottery and Weatheroak Farm ostrich farm. The 16-month-old business group objective is to raise the profile of the town.

It has held two very successful markets already and the third takes place on September 20.

It received a £4,000 Fylde Community Project Grant six months ago and is purchasing five continental-style chalets, built by Kirkham Prison to be used during the markets. Any profits made by the group will benefit the town's Christmas lights and Kirkham in Bloom.

The group says it is very grateful for both the grant and the help of HMP Kirkham. It is also instrumental in obtaining a £200,000 grant for the refurbishment of shop fronts over the next two years.
