POLICE are hunting a sex attacker who targeted a teenage girl in Kirkham.
The serious sexual assault took place in the car park of the Kingfisher pub on St George's Park, off the A585
Police said the teenager had earlier been drinking in Harrisons Bar at Ribby Hall, Wrea Green, on Sunday December 20.
Officers from Blackpool CID were called in following the attack, which took place between 8pm and 9pm.
Det Con George Binns said: "We're obviously extremely keen to hear from anybody who might have some information about this attack.
"We have spoken to a number of potential witnesses and looked into CCTV from the surrounding area but want to hear from anybody who may have spotted something suspicious in the area around that time.
"She is clearly extremely upset and has been spoken to by detectives and is now in the care of her family who are offering her support.
"Earlier in the afternoon, we believe there may have been an incident in Harrison's Bar at Ribby Hall, which could be connected to this later assault.
"Somebody may have a vital piece of information which could help us solve this case so we are appealing for anybody who may know something to come forward."
Officers want to speak to anybody who may have seen something suspicious at the Kingfisher between 8pm and 9pm or at Harrison's bar from 3pm that afternoon.
The girl, said by police to be in her late teens, had her injuries checked over in hospital and is now being cared for by her family.
Detectives arrested one local man following the attack but he has been released on police bail while the inquiry continues.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Blackpool Police on (01253) 293933 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
