Woman injured in Kirkham smash

A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital following a crash on the A583 between Blackpool and Kirkham.
One car, a Citroen, veered off the carriageway and into a tree and the other car, a Renault Clio, ended up on the other side of the carriageway, causing a major road blockage.

The female driver's injury are as yet unknown but she has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital Police say the two cars collided at around 7.30am.

The incident, which caused major tailbacks, happened on the Kirkham Bypass section of the road near to Carr Hill High School.
