A SPECIAL charity event is to be held in honour of tragic Joshua Aldred.
Eight-year-old Joshua was found hanging in his Lytham Quays bedroom by his grandmother in June.
His family believed Joshua's death was the result of a tragic 'cry for help' from the grieving youngster, who had been trying to cope with the loss of h
is mother Sarah, who died of cancer in March and his grandfather John, who passed away last year.
Tributes flooded in for Joshua and now a special fund-raising event has been organised to give friends and family the chance to celebrate the life of the popular King Edward's schoolboy.
The event, which takes place at the Island, will include a champagne reception, buffet, disco, auction and raffle.
All proceeds will go to the Joshua Aldred Memorial Trust fund - also known as the Aldred Charitable Trust - which has been set up in memory of Joshua, mum Sarah and grandfather John.
Joshua's dad Jason explained: "The purpose of the trusts is to provide support for the development of children based in the Fylde and provide support for people suffering from cancer.
"The trust will achieve these aims by awarding grants to organisations that work with children - such as the YMCA and Sea Scouts - and awarding grants to individuals or charitable organisations focused on providing cancer support or research."
"I chose this focus for the trusts because Joshua was a keen and very able sportsman and was also keen to support cancer charities."
The event takes place on October 4 and runs from 8pm till 1am.
