A LYTHAM jeweller is seeking a buyer for the ultimate Easter egg - which has a price tag of £350,000!
Leonard Dews has the last remaining Faberge World Egg, one of just four made.

It features nearly 3,000 diamonds and a globe made from 18 karat white gold.

Michael Hyman, who runs Leonard Dews and Wilkins Diamonds in Lancashire and the Isle of Man, is so protective of the World Egg that he is refusing to say where it is.

It is safely locked up in a secure vault in a top secret location.
Mr Hyman is hoping a recession-proof individual may buy this ultimate gift for a loved one this Easter.

However, Mr Hyman admits that if a buyer doesn't come forward he is happy to hang on to the World Egg because the slump in sterling has seen its value rocket.

Four Faberge World Eggs were made last year by master craftsman Victor Mayer and three have been sold to collectors, one already by Mr Hyman to a British buyer.

Mr Hyman, an agent for Faberge, said: "The combination of rare craft techniques and precious materials creates a true wonder of beauty."

He is hoping the egg might attract attention from rich buyers worldwide, but expects most interest from Saudi Arabia, the US and Russia.

Russian craftsman Peter Carl Faberge achieved fame in jewellery circles when he began making bejewelled eggs for the family of the Russian czar in the 19th century.
