Smoke damage in chip pan fire

THE ground floor of a property in Weeton was badly damaged by smoke following a chip pan fire.
Firefighters dealt with the incident, on Singleton Road, after receiving the emergency call at 10.38am last Wednesday.

A cooker hood was destroyed by the fire and there was slight heat damage to wall cupboards.

Ball will be blue

BLACKPOOL North and Cleveleys Conservatives are having their ever-popular Pale Blue Ball on July 25, starting at 7pm for 7.30pm, at the Savoy Hotel in Blackpool.

The black tie event is a chance to make new friends and catch up with old ones.

Guest speaker will be the Tory candidate for the constituency, Paul Maynard.

Merry new date

A NEW date has been set for the cancelled June 22 performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor by Illyria.

It will now go ahead at Lytham Hall on July 29, at 7.30pm. The gates open at 6.30pm.

Anyone who is unable to attend this date should contact Lytham Hall on (01253) 736652 for alternative arrangements.
