STUDENTS of Lytham St Annes High have attained national success in the world of drama.
Rowena Malpass and Dani Wrench, Year 12 students, have both been accepted to attend the Nation Youth Theatre Summer Course.
This will mean spending two weeks in London rehearsing for a show, directed by professionals and performed to an audience in
a London theatre.

Both girls had to audition in Manchester and were amongst the 200 chosen out of 4,000 hopefuls. There was fierce competition as students were judged in workshop conditions, a private audition and the rendering of a 2 minute monologue.

Expenses of around £1000 each to cover accommodation and living costs have to be raised by the girls and they are busy thinking up ways of raising the money. Already plans for putting on a band concert at Lowther gardens and a production in school are under way though any would-be sponsors would be most welcome.

Dani said: "We'll be meeting up with experienced actors so this is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in the Theatre world."

Danell Dearden, Director of Creative & Performing Arts said: "We are delighted to have two of our students chosen for the summer school. They are being rewarded for their dedication and talent."
