LYTHAM St Annes High students have celebrated national Breakfast Week.
TO celebrate, year 8 students got involved in promoting the event.

With details at http://www.farmhousebreakfast.com/ this is a national event for schools to encourage students to get in to the habit of eating a good breakfast as a healthy start to the day.

Hannah Hyde and Rebecca Harrington answered their form teachers request for volunteers and mounted their own publicity campaign.

They made powerpoint presentations and launched "themed breakfast" at assemblies. Their idea of offering French, Italian and English breakfasts, complete with appropriate flags (made by them) was certainly a success.

Our catering staff was only too willing to get involved.

Julie Rothney, Assistant Cook/manager said "The two girls were enthusiastic and very well organised. Their ideas certainly went down well with the student community. There were certainly a lot of customers!"

The girls were given a set budget and had to decide which foods would be appropriate. Any money left over was supplemented by the girls running their own fun-raising food guessing games and this is being donated to a Malawi charity.
