A TEACHERS' strike today, Thursday, will mean some Fylde schools being closed, Lancashire County Council has confirmed.

This will be the first national teachers' strike in 21 years.
The National Union of Teachers, which has some 1,300 members on the Fylde, has called for the walk-out in a dispute over a below inflation pay increase of 2.45 per cent.
They will be joined by civil servants from the Public and Commercial Services union, which is furious at its zero per cent pay offer from the Government.
Lancashire County Council has so far confirmed four schools in Fylde and Wyre will be closed today.
They are Shakespeare Primary School in Fleetwood, Northfold Community Primary School in Thornton, Manor Beach Primary School in Cleveleys, and St Bede's RC High School in Lytham.
In addition, Cardinal Allen RC High School in Fleetwood will be closed with the exception of Year 11 and Hodgson High School in Poulton will be closed except for Years Seven and 11.
Other teaching unions, including the NASUWT, are not supporting the strike.
