A POPULAR local amateur dramatic group are mourning the loss of one of their life members has died after a long illness.
Dora Lack, of Warton Street, Lytham, joined the Fylde Coast Players in the early 1970s.
She soon established a reputation as a talented and imaginative producer, taking the society to drama festivals throughout the North of England and North Wales where they won numerous awards.
She served the society as chairman for several years and was made a Life Member in the 1980s.
Dora began her life in theatre as an assistant to her magician husband Tom, who also appeared in several of her productions.
She was also a long service member of British Actors' Equity. Dora died in a Lytham nursing home.
Dora and Tom, whom she leaves behind, used to run the hardware and handyman's shop on Warton Street, Lytham.
Maureen Calveley, of Lytham, a member of the Fylde Coast Players, paid this tribute: "Dora always insisted on high standards of style, integrity and discipline in all her work and her talents will be greatly missed.
She added: "She had a very high regard for Lytham audiences – many have a lifetime of theatre behind them and know what's what.
"She would thank everyone at the end of every rehearsal, and at the end of every show she would come back stage and say thank you to everyone."
