A CAMPAIGN launched to help save the life of a young Lytham boy is set to smash the £10,000 mark – nearly a third of the way to our target of £30,000.

The Express asked its readers to back our ‘Give Charlie a Chance Appeal’ and they have done in their hundreds.

We wanted to give five-year-old Charlie, suffering from neuroblastoma cancer, a chance to survive and you have responded in our most heart-rending appeal with amazing donations.

The survival rate in the UK is just 30 per cent, but special holistic therapy in Germany could significantly increase his chances.

If every member of the borough – more than 75,000 of us – texted just a £1 donation, it would give the courageous five-year-old the best fighting chance to get over his life-threatening cancer and we are well on our way.

Mum Sharon said: “It’s just been amazing.”
