Pupils and staff at a Fylde coast school brightened the finances of the North West Air Ambulance by £260.93 – by dressing in yellow for the day.
The fund-raising effort in aid of this year’s St Annes Carnival charity was designed to be reminiscent of the NWAA helicopters’ bright yellow livery.
It provided a further boost to the funds already raised for the charity by Carnival Queen Hannah Jeffrey, who is a Year 6 pupil at Mayfield Primary School in St Annes, and was proud to take part in the event with her schoolmates.
Headteacher Suzanne Fish said: “The children looked fantastic in their yellow outfits.
“Friday’s assembly was all about the work of the Air Ambulance, including pictures of the helicopter from a previous visit to our school.
“That visit a few years ago was memorable for everyone and we were delighted when we heard that Hannah’s year as Carnival Queen would be in support of the North West Air Ambulance.
“We are very proud of Hannah for supporting this cause and happy that we could help in her efforts.”
