ST ANNES residents are to be asked for their views on proposals to bring beach huts back to the town.

Husband and wife team Stuart and Zoe Robertson (pictured) want to build up to 60 huts on the seafront in time for next season and have submitted plans to Fylde Council.

But they have met with some opposition, with St Annes Town Council disapproving of two of the proposed sites, veteran alderman Alfred Jealous claiming they would become a magnet for vandals and a beach-side cafe starting a petition against them.

Now, Mr and Mrs Robertson have decided to get views on their plans from the people of the town – and are planning to go door to door as well as setting up an online questionnaire.

Questions include preferred sites and facilities and how much they would be willing to spend on buying one.

The questionnaire can be found at www.stannesbeachhuts.co.uk.
