More than 100 volunteers from BAE Systems in Warton played their part in making sure this year’s poppy appeal by the Royal British Legion is as successful as ever.

Groups of workers at Warton gave up their breaks to sort more than 60,000 poppies for the annual appeal.

Jenny Westworth, who co-ordinated the effort at Warton said: “The Royal British Legion is a great cause and there was no shortage of volunteers to help out.

“It’s great to give something back into our local community, especially around poppy appeal time.”
