Almost 2,000 budding apprentices have turned out to events to learn more about a career with BAE Systems.

The young hopefuls attended open evenings, including in Blackpool, where they heard about the experiences of other youngsters who were already apprentices at sites at Warton and Samlesbury.

Hundreds of youngsters were at an event at Blackpool FC’s Bloomfield Road. Similar events were held at Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers’ stadiums.

Andy Bloor, Head of Early Careers for BAE Systems’ Military Air and Information business, said: “We were overwhelmed by the response we’ve had from young people to our open evenings. Our apprentices who participated at the evenings did a fantastic job of representing the company.”
