IT’S a case of back to the future as two firms of undertakers become one.

Lytham-based funeral director M Rawcliffe and St Annes’ Mark Rae have gone into partnership together – creating a new Rawcliffe & Rae Funeral Directors of Lytham business.

Rawcliffe’s, of Birch Street and Warton Street, Lytham, was set up by Maurice Rawcliffe – who has the distinction of being the longest established independent firm of funeral directors in Lytham St Annes – in 1956.

Mark Rae has more than 32 years experience as a funeral director and established his own business in Wood Street, St Annes, from where continues to operate, some six years ago.

Mark said he felt privileged to be part of the new Rawcliffe & Rae Funeral Directors of Lytham.

He said: “In one sense, it’s the old team working back together, as I served my apprenticeship with Maurice Rawcliffe when I first joined the funeral business.”

He added: “We continue to be committed to providing families with a personal and dignified service in their time of loss and that is a privilege indeed.”
