A new film showing life behind the scenes at Fylde Coast’s biggest employer is being aired on YouTube.

The three-and-a-half minute fly on the wall film is set to The Script’s hit Hall of Fame and shows scenes from BAE System’s Warton, Samlesbury and Brough sites.

Produced by Liverpool-based video production company Mocha, the film was shown to all 13,000 employees in the Military Air and Information division during a special event.

Now it has been launched on YouTube, and has already gained more than 6,000 views.

The film, dubbed A Day In the Life, was filmed earlier this year at a number of UK sites.

It features scenes from manufacturing facilities at Warton and Samlesbury, as well as employees at RAF Coningsby and the structural test team at Brough.

There’s also footage taken from within the cockpit of a Typhoon aircraft and aerial recording of the Hawk trainer jet in flight.

Some stunning aerial shots and a glimpse inside a high-powered management meeting are interwoven with everyday scenes of designers, engineeers and firemen.

And the atmospheric closing scene of a test pilot walking towards his aircraft could have come straight out of Top Gun.

More than 11,500 people work in the Military Air and Information division at Warton and Samlesbury, working on major projects including the Typhoon, the Hawk trainer jet,and the F-35 Lightning. There is also work on unmanned air vehicles and other technical projects.
