Comedy legends Cannon and Ball have wasted no time honouring their pledge to stage a fund-raising show at Lowther Pavilion – and tickets go on sale on Friday (Apr 4) for their much-anticipated appearance on Sunday, September 21.
Proceeds from the evening, billed as An Audience With Cannon and Ball, will go towards the Friends of Lowther’s continuing renovation plans for the Lytham venue and, with just 457 tickets available, there is expected to be brisk demand.
“We feel honoured that Bobby and Tommy want to do this for us and we can’t thank them enough,” said Friends chairman Janet Radcliffe.
The offer to stage the show came about when Bobby Ball, who lives locally and is a patron of the Friends, and Tommy Cannon performed the official opening of the new-look bar at Lowther earlier this year, during the world premier run of Bobby’s play Rock Off Tommy.
The Friends raised £25,000 towards the bar project and have a list of jobs they are keen to follow up with, including work on the roof and new seating in the auditorium.
Bobby said: “It is a wonderful theatre and I am happy to do anything I can to help.”
The show, starting at 7.30pm, is set to include a question and answer session. Tickets are priced £15 for the general public and £13 for members of the Friends of Lowther and will go on sale in person, by phone and online from 10am tomorrow. Details from the box office on (01253) 794221.
