Two Fylde coast chip shops are teaming up with their friends in the Norse to offer cheap fish and chips next Saturday.
Seniors at Bispham and Whelan’s Fish and Chips in Lytham will be serving up 99p portions of Norwegian cod and chips on May 17 to celebrate national Norway Day – while stocks last.
The Norwegian Seafood Council is working in partnership with 99 fryers across the UK to offer fish and chip fans the chance to hark back to the golden era of fish and chips.
Alistair Horabin from Seniors added: “Fish and chips are a firm favourite in Blackpool.
“I know that our customers will enjoy the delicious Norwegian cod and chips on offer – and they will certainly enjoy the prices too!”
David McCreedy from Whelan’s said: “We are so pleased to be taking part in this annual celebration.”
Jack-Robert Møller, from the NSC, said: “Norway has provided UK shops with cod from the Barents Sea for nearly 70 years.
“We are so pleased that due to the abundance of sustainable cod in Norway, we are able to give this offer.”
