A former church will return to its roots thanks to the enterprising efforts of a Fylde church leader.
Pastor Steve Moss, from the Fylde Christian Service Church, bought Sanders Auction Room after the venue closed earlier this year.
The building, on St Andrews Road South in St Annes, dates from the mid-1880s and was once a Baptist church.
Mr Moss said he was delighted to find a permanent home for his congregation.
He added: “We were having to have services at the hall in Mayfield School in St Annes. I’d had my eye on this site for some time. After some negotiation, we managed to buy the property for a six-figure sum.
“Elements of it need updating – it used to be a sales room after all. It’s in a way a Tardis, looking very different outside to the inside.”
Steve, who has been part of the church for 25 years and has lived on the Fylde coast for close to two decades said the site will not just benefit his congregation, but the community too.
He added: “We will be established as a church for a long time. It’s not just a place of worship, but a place to help the community, to reach out to the whole area. We can host coffee mornings and youth groups too. It’s very exciting.”
