Coustics delighted to home in on milestone gig
But The Coustics celebrated their milestone 30th anniversary in the music industry with a special hometown concert.
The band which made its debut at the Dalmeny Hotel in the summer of 1988 and marked the moment with a performance at the town’s Ashton Gardens.

Hide AdThey were among the acts on show at the first outdoor evening gig staged during St Annes Carnival – and the concert went down so well that it could become a regular feature of the ever-growing Carnival.
Straight afterwards, it was across the road to play the Lord Derby, a frequent venue for a band which is often to be seen ‘rocking the joint’ at many other Fylde locations.
Covers of popular songs by a variety of acts through the years go down well with the crowds at such venues - but Liam and Nick have been writing together for years and are particularly proud of their original songs.
Another batch, which the duo feel are among the best they have ever written, will appear on their next album due out in October, while one they wrote some years ago, called My Horizon, caused an internet sensation three years ago.

Founder members Liam McKenzie said: “We have so many great memories but more than anything we’d like to thank our local following who have continued to support us for all these years.”
