Drunk man caused a fracas on train

Police were called after passengers complained a drunken man was causing a fracas on a train from Preston to Kirkham.

Christopher Ashton, who later admitted he had drunk two bottles of vodka, was described by a train guard as paying particular attention to female passenger and his trousers kept slipping down.

Ashton, 29, of Burlington Road West, South Shore, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

He was given a 12 months conditional discharge, fined £50 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £20 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor, Jim Mowbray, said police were called to Kirkham railway station on April 26 about 6.15pm.

Train passengers had complained about Ashton’s bad behaviour on a train.
