A man accused of selling fake gold bars to a Lytham jeweller for more than £2,000 has made his first appearance at court.
David Johnson is alleged to have sold three counterfeit gold ingots labelled The Perth Mint to Timeless Jewellers, Clifton Street.
Johnson, 46, of Tickhill Road, Maltby, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, is charged with fraud by falsely representing he was selling gold on March 10 this year.
Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court.
Steven Townley, defending, said his client would not indicate a plea to the offence at that stage.
Johnson was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on November 25 by Blackpool magistrates.
