Stolen digger found in midlands

Police have successfully recovered an excavator stolen from a Fylde building site.

The Daewoo digger was taken from Thistleton, near Greenhalgh in June.

Using information
provided by the community and through national rural crime scheme Operation Motif officers were able to not only identify the vehicle used to take the digger but also the route that that wagon took following the theft.

The truck was stopped in the West Midlands area by the Central Motorway Police Group, and seized.

The investigation into the theft continues but the excavator has now been returned to its rightful owner.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We do take rural crime seriously.
