Woman, 40 stole £400 of booze from Lytham shop

A woman targeted a Lytham supermarket on three consecutive days stealing more than £400 of alcohol from there.

Toni Hammond, who was said to drink three to four bottles of wine a day, was caught the last time she carried out a booze raid at Booths.

Hammond, 40, of Morland Road, St Annes, pleaded guilty to three offences of theft.

She was sentenced to a 12 months community order with up to 25 days rehabilitation to be supervised by the probation service, put on six months drug rehabilitation and ordered to pay £192 compensation with £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates. Kathryn Jamieson-Sinclair, defending, said her client suffered from problems with alcohol which she knew were getting the better of her at the moment.
