Children from a Fylde school left the classroom to open a new food store.

The pupils, from Hall Park School in Lytham, officially launched the town’s new 2,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s store in Clifton Street.

Store manager Richard Hayes said: “Myself and the whole team were delighted the children were on hand to cut the ribbon at our new Lytham store.

“Getting to know and serve our local community is at the heart of everything we do.

“From supporting local schools through our Active Kids programme to local community groups and charities through our local charity partner programme, we aim to be a great neighbour and a friendly place to shop.”
