FYLDE fundraisers took the plunge for the 25th Lytham St Annes Swimarathon.
More than 360 swimmers made a splash for cash at St Annes Baths on Sunday and raised £7,000 for good causes.
The money will go towards Fylde Scouts, the Mayor’s charities and the Lions’ own charity fund.
The event, which is organised by the Lytham St Annes Lions, was back at its original home after a two-year stay at Blackpool’s Palatine Pool.
Lions President Bob Eaton said: “We have a best guess at the moment and the best guess is £7,000 on the day.
“We feel very very positively about it because we know times are a little bit harder than they have been in the past and yet we are up on where we were at the same stage last year.
“We are so grateful to all the swimmers who turned up on the day and raised this total, which we think is very good.
“There were young toddlers all the way up to professional swimmers involved.”
A presentation for the winners will be held at Lytham Assembly Rooms in March.
