A fire believed to have been set by squatters ripped through a derelict hotel.
Fire crews were called to the Alexandra Hotel, on Alexandra Road in South Shore, at around 11pm on Saturday.
It took crews from four fire engines to bring the fire, in the kitchen on the ground floor, under control.
No people were injured in the incident and the fire was contained within the property but some smoke did seep through to adjoining hotels.
Det Sgt Mark Dickinson, from Blackpool CID, said: “We are treating this as suspicious. We believe the hotel had been used by squatters.
“As winter approaches people living rough may be tempted to start fires in derelict buildings. We would encourage people to report any concerns to the council.”
