Flower Power certainly proved to have pulling power at Lytham Hall this weekend. The sun smiled down on the prestigious floral fair which attracted some 450 green-fingered folk - an increase of over 150 on last year’s attendance.
Judy Popley, organiser of Cheshire-based Flower Power which tours some of the finest country homes and private gardens in the country, said: “It was a good result and, far more important than the figures, lots of people were buying lots of plants.
One stand ended up with only three plants left, others with lots of empty crates and all were happy.”
A Gardeners Question Time was hosted by Radio Lancashire’s Peter Foley and there were tours of the Georgian Mansion and the grounds, as well as an exhibition showing how plants are being used in the on-going restoration programme of the historic manor.
