Footballer Lee Sharpe will be the guest speaker at a sportsman’s dinner for business people from the Fylde coast.
The former Manchester United, Leeds and Sampdoria winger will be joined by comedian Austin Knight for the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce event.
It will be held at the Villa, Wrea Green from 7.30pm on Friday, October 30.
MC at the event, which will feature a three-course meal and complimentary wine, will be Mark Jones.
The evening will also include an auction, with proceeds going towards The BIBAs Foundation. Donations are welcome.
Sharpe began his football career at Torquay United before Manchester United swooped to sign him for £200,000, a record fee at the time for a YTS player.
He played a key part in United’s success in the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1991 and, during eight years at Old Trafford, played 265 games.
Austin Knight’s started out writing gags for Tommy Cooper and sketches for Les Dawson. He has appeared on TV shows including Coronation Street and Taggart.
