LYTHAM Hall’s magnificent grounds are now open to roam – from two gateways!
Having gained country park status, hall chiefs have been quick to ensure that Fylde folk have full and easy access to the 80-acres of woodland that surround the Grade 1 listed 18th century manor house.
And that means opening an old pedestrian gate on Forest Drive, which makes the hall even handier for families and dog walkers coming from the Hall Park and Ansdell area.
Among the first visitors to take advantage of the new gateway were children from the nearby Forest Drive Nursery.
The children all prepared for an adventure with clipboards soon disappeared off into the grounds to see what they could discover.
Hall Project Manager Paul Hodgkiss said: “It is great to see how opening this gate can create real benefit to the local community and give these children access to our wonderful parkland. Following on from our opening of the grounds Monday to Friday free of charge to the public, this is the next small step forward.
By opening the gate on Forest Drive we hope to make the grounds far more accessible for the local community.”
The gates will be open Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm.
