THE Galas are coming!
Get set for fun and games across the Fylde as our local communities rally round for the undoubted highlight of their annual calendars.
Kirkham and Wesham kick off the fun on Saturday, June 11 when their parade through the streets of the twin towns takes place in the morning, followed by a whole of host of super events for the whole family later in the day.
Freckleton Club day follows on June 18, when the streets of the village will be awash with colour.
The big day in Lytham is Saturday, June 25, when the legendary morning parade through the town centre looks set to attract a bumper entry.
It will make its way as usual along Clifton Street, Church Road, the Beach, Warton Street and back to Clifton Street before the crowning of new Rose Queen Tabitha Riley at Lowther Gardens in the afternoon.
Wrea Green Field Day takes place on Saturday, July 2, when the village resounds to the delights of a parade and festivities.
The following weekend, on July 9 and 10, there will be double the delight in St Annes as the town’s Carnival is extended to two days.
The Saturday morning parade is sure to feature a host of colourful floats on a route taking in St Annes Road East, Church Road and St Albans Road on its way to and from the town centre.
Rosalie Rothwell will be crowned St Annes Carnival Queen on Saturday afternoon, while on Sunday, the Carnival mood continues with a Family Fun Day, featuring a host of fun events centred around Ashton Gardens.
Also on Saturday, July 9, the villages of Newton and Clifton celebrate their annual Field Day, a tradition dating back over 60 years.
