Tea room enjoys a makeover

A HIDDEN gem cafe has been transformed by a £20,000 refurbishment.
The Mews Tea Room, of Clifton Street, Lytham, has had a complete makeover of its first floor dining space, as well as a new downstairs seating area, offering a comfy corner with leather sofa and chairs, together with dining tables and chairs.
Owner Tim Joyner, 48, has successfully run the tea room for close to 30 years and said the opportunity to renovate the building was too good a chance to miss.
He added: “Having successfully traded for 27 years it was time to give the tea room a fresh new look, ensuring that the character and charm of the original coach house building was kept.
“The roof terrace has also had a full refurbishment and will offer a relaxing and quiet area to enjoy the warm spring and summer months. We are still serving the same high quality home-made produce on which my reputation is based.”
Tim, who lives with wife Catherine, 36, has two sons, Laurence, 14 and Alex, 13.
The couple, who live in Hamilton Close, Lytham, have a daughter, Evie, three and are expecting a baby in May.
Despite the hectic nature of family life, Tim said he hopes the room will go from strength to strength: “Plans for the future include expanding my existing outside catering business and hiring out the tea room for private functions. The new versatile layout means that it is now ideally suited for this purpose.”
