A former Britain’s Got Talent contestant is the latest addition to the cast of the Lowther Pavilion pantomime Mother Goose.
James Edgington will play Jack McNasty in the production which runs at the Lytham theatre for 39 performances from December 9 to 30.
He joins TV actor Nick Wymer. who will play the dame, and broadcaster Sally Naden, as Fairy Vanity, along with a rotating cast of some 300 Fylde youngsters from three dance schools.
James is best known as half of the duo Father and Son, who appeared on the popular TV series Britain’s Got Talent in 2010.
He joined his dad Graham on the track This Is The Moment and so impressed the judges that the pair returned for the semi-final show that year, in which they sang The Wind Beneath My Wings.
Since then, as well as continuing to perform with his father and recording in his own right, James has successfully branched out into acting, featuring in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks among a number of TV shows. He is also a radio presenter for Tower FM in his home town of Bolton.
“We are delighted James has joined the cast,” said panto director Tim Lince. “His character Jack McNasty is the good secret nephew of the villain Squire McNasty, so he changes his name to Jack McFlurry so no one knows they’re related.”
