Methodists across the Fylde coast can look forward to church services with a new man in charge.
The Rev Dr Adrian Burdon will become the minister of Lytham Methodist Church and The Drive Methodist Church, St Annes, starting this weekend.
Dr Burdon has come to the Fylde coast with his wife, Janet, who is a high school teacher, and their two daughters Rachel, 12 and Kacey, 11, after eight years working as superintendent minister in Leeds.
He has a varied past, having previously served the church as a minister in Rochdale and Durham, as well as having spent eight years as a mission partner in the pacific island of Tonga.
He comes with 25 years of experience of ministry and said he is looking forward to engaging with the community:
“I’m excited to move to the Fylde coast and leading the methodist congregations in mission and ministry in these towns.
“I am looking forward to getting started.”
In addition to his work in Lytham and St Annes, Dr Burdon serves the Methodist Church as their national advisor on worship and liturgy.
He will start his new role on Sunday.
