THE Sunday headliner for this summer’s Lytham Proms is set to be revealed on the evening of next month’s Brit awards.

Speculation has been rife as to who will top the bill on the final night of the Proms, Sunday, August 4, and promoters Cuffe and Taylor were giving nothing away this week when they revealed the likely timing of the long-awaited announcement.

The Brits take place in London on Wednesday, February 20, and along with Olly Murs, who was the Sunday night Proms headliner in Lytham last summer, the nominees include One Direction, Mumford and Sons, Plan B, Paloma Faith, Emili Sande, Jack Bugg and Michael Buble.

Meanwhile, Jonathan and Charlotte, the teenage classical singing sensations who shot to fame in Britain’s Got Talent, will join Russell Watson on the bill for the Saturday evening of the Proms, August 3.

A Cuffe and Taylor spokesman said: “Like the rest of the country, when we first heard these two perform on Britain’s Got Talent, we were blown away.

“Since their rise to fame they have been fine-tuned by some of the industry’s most respected experts, making them the perfect accompaniment for Russell Watson.”

Tickets for the Saturday evening are available at £37.50 up to May 14, £40 from May 15 and £50 from July 27. Details from 0844 888 9991 or www.lythamproms.co.uk.

The 80s Strike Back, a bill which includes Jason Donovan, Sonia and Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet, has already been announced for the Friday.
