A landmark cafe has closed and the search is under way for new tenants.
The Pavilion, at the heart of St Annes’ Ashton Gardens, is owned by Fylde Council.
Tony and Sarah High, tenants of the cafe since its opening in 2010, decided to end evening opening last year, and said the daytime operation could be under threat, after what they claimed was a lack of support from the council over lighting and signage.
The Highs were unavailable for comment this week but a message on the Pavilion website said: “We would like to thank all our customers for their patronage and support over the past three years.”
A Fylde Council spokesman said: “The former tenant has offered a good service to visitors but he ended the tenancy on September 30 and we must now find someone else.
“We are already advertising the lease in a number of Lancashire-wide publications – we are spreading the net as widely as possible as Ashton Gardens needs another high-calibre operator in the restaurant.
“We hope to get someone in place in the New Year.”
