Lytham Arts Festival will follow rather than precede the town’s Club Day next year.

Organiser Richard Marshall hopes the move will help make the event even bigger and better than on its debut in June and that it will benefit from being promoted during the Club Day procession.

The fact the dates of July 4 to 11 will also include two Saturdays and a Sunday also offers greater scope for family-focused features and Richard said: “It went very well this year but we want it to be even bigger and better next time. Some people said they were too busy preparing for Lytham Club Day to
attend events and we hope the change of date will work better for everyone.”

The Festival, staged on
behalf of the Lytham Business Partnership, was held this year in the week leading up to Club Day, held on June 28. It featured a wide variety of arts displays in shop windows and at other venues as well as live performances at venues all over town. It was funded this year and next via a £24,000 grant from Fylde Council’s High Street Innovation Fund but it is hoped it will continue in future years.
