The 8th Lytham St Annes Group needs £3,000 to put the last pieces of much-needed refurbishment of its decades-old base at Station Road into place.

After hopes of a new HQ on nearby land proved financially prohibitive, the Scouts have switched their attention to refurbishing their existing wooden building, which dates back more than 60 years.

Various grants are set to cover £25,000 of work, but the group needs another £3,000 to complete the project - and is looking for the help from the public to get the project off the ground.

The projected work will include a new roof and re-cladding the exterior in galvanised metal sheeting, along with a new boiler and central heating system and new toilets.

Leaflets have been delivered to homes across Lytham in the hope of people getting involved.

Everyone who donates £10 will be named on a roll of honour in the new-look building.
