The new mayor of Fylde, Coun Linda Nulty, took office in the annual ceremony at Lytham’s Lowther Gardens.
The Wesham councillor will have Coun Elaine Silverwood as her deputy and will be supported by her husband Richard as consort and Marilyn Clayton as Mayoress.
Coun Nulty said after the mayor-making ceremony: “It was a fantastic day, having so many people here supporting me and it is such an honour to be Mayor of Fylde.
“I found it very emotional and moving, but it’s an honour and a privilege to represent the wonderful people of the Fylde.
“I will do my best for the charities chosen and am sure I will get a lot of support.”
The Mayor’s charities this year will be Home-Start Fylde, Trinity Hospice, Brian House and Heartbeat.
Meanwhile, Coun Vivienne Willder has been appointed as the new town mayor of St Annes.
The former civil servant, who is also helomng rais cash for Home-Start Fylde, will have as her deputy Coun Ed Nash.
“St Annes Town Council is going from strength to strength and it is a real honour to be appointed town mayor,” she said.
