A young mother argued with her partner’s stepmother, shouting at her: “You spend all your money on scratchcards.”

Amy Manik then hit the woman on the cheek, causing a lump and bruising, a court heard.

Manik, 21, of Lytham Road, Warton, pleaded guilty to assault when she appeared before Blackpool Magistrates Court.

The court heard Manik told the victim: “I have no friends” before calling her names and accusing her of spending her money on buying scratchcards.

She then assaulted the woman.

Peter Cave, defending, told magistrates Manik had not drunk alcohol since the incident.

Manik was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation of £100 to her victim plus £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
