AN award-winning Lytham charity just can’t stop growing after being awarded another lottery grant.

Park View 4 U, which has created a park fit for all the whole community to use, has now received £10,000 from the Big Lottery through its Local Food Programme.

Called “Growing Up”, the park project aims to highlight the links between locally sourced food and healthy lifestyles, as well as building on their successful inter-generational activities.

Park View 4 U’s next development scheme is a community centre and café, which it is hoped, will open early in the New Year, with a kitchen garden being completed by the spring. The funding will also provide an Edible Avenue which will line the walkway to the new centre, planted with native fruit trees.

Park View 4U trustee David Hilton said: “This is yet another great project for the community secured through the Park View 4U charity. It will be used for developing the use of the park area and will really impact on the engagement of many groups within the community.”

Park View 4U will also host Grow your Own and cookery courses as well as create a new gardening club with produce grown used in the café.
