It follows the award of £1.5m National Lottery Heritage Funding in December 2018 and is expected to be completed by the spring/summer of next year.
The project aims to conserve and restore Fairhaven’s heritage buildings and landscape and is being delivered through two main contracts.
The first, worth £1.2m, has been awarded to John Turner Construction, to restore the three heritage buildings on site along with landscape works on the north side of the Lake. The second £158,000 package involves Horticon Ltd carrying out restoration of the Japanese Gardens and completing the circular pathway around the lake.
Coun Cheryl Little, Fylde Council’s tourism and leisure chairman, said: “I hope everyone shares our excitement for the next phase of the transformation of one of the Council’s best loved assets.”
