Mary celebrates her 100th birthday

Mary Saville proudly maintained a long family history in the town until she left to live nearer to relatives in Dorset.
Her great grandmother lived in a cottage on the site of what is now St Annes Old Link Golf Club and ‘Granny Fisher’s Cottage’ is commemorated on a plaque there.

Hide AdMary was a familiar face around St Annes, working for many years in a local charity shop and her daughter Val Billington said she has the fondest memories of the town.
"Mum lived in St Annes until she was 97 when we moved to Dorset to be nearer our family,” said Val.
“Her great grandmother was a resident in small cottage on what is now Old Llnks and it’s lovely there is a plaque is in place where the cottage used to be.
"Mum was born and bred in St Annes and moved down to sheltered accommodation only five minutes’ walk from my husband and I in Ferndown

Hide Ad"She had to go into a residential care home last September as her needs became 24 hours but she is very happy there.
"She plays the piano, puts on her earrings and lipstick and enjoys life as much as she is able with me only a 10 minute walk away.
“We still have family in Lytham St Annes and many other people who remember her and our very best wishes to them.”
Mary proudly receive a card from King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla to mark her landmark birthday..
