A plane has made an emergency landing and overshot the runway at Blackpool Airport.

The incident happened around noon with fire and ambulance crews currently at the scene.

James Wilson, 36, saw the plane landing from his office at Discount Supplements in Snowdon Road, St Annes.

He said: “Our office backs onto the runway at Blackpool Airport and I was looking out the window and a plane was coming in extremely fast and massively overshot the runway.

“It is now embedded into the grass at the end of the field.

“We think everyone got out pretty sharpish.”

No one is believed to be seriously injured.
